Again this year Corpus Christi Parish will be hosting the Holiday Hilltop 5K Run/Walk on Saturday, December 10, 2016, at 9:00 a.m. This year's run will benefit Matthew Rheaume.
Matthew has been fighting cancer since he was just five months old. Despite rounds of chemotherapy, radiation, and countless surgeries, as well as the loss of his right eye and his right leg, Matthew has never let the cancer keep him down for long. He was an altar server, a VBS volunteer, an usher, and belonged to the Saint Nicholas Youth Group. He became an Eagle Scout, played the baritone and tuba for OTHS Marching Panthers, and he finished his Bachelors of Science in Chemistry while on treatment. Matthew has also been an active volunteer at HIS KIDS of Highland, an organization created to support families affected by childhood cancer. In addition to paying towards some of his own medical bills, Matthew would like to use some of the funds raised at the Holiday Hilltop Run to help support Camp HIS KIDS this coming summer.
Once again, we will be providing live Christmas Music along the course!
If you are interested in donating, there are three levels of sponsors: Gold, silver, and bronze. Gold is a donation of one hundred dollars or more, silver is a donation of fifty dollars, and bronze is a donation of twenty-five dollars. We will also be awarding attendance prizes and hosting a raffle and silent auction. Any cash donations or items you would like to donate would be greatly appreciated. All sponsor’s names will be displayed on the back of the official race t-shirt. Questions may be directed to the Corpus Christi parish office at 624-5814, or email us at: email@example.com.
